Tutoring review by Isadora in Tribeca, NY
We did the usual today, and the student was very well behaved. We began with a reading exercise, then looked over some math. The student excelled in both tasks, particularly with the math.

Tutoring review by Victor in Tribeca, NY
We discussed the epicycloid problem from last time - the student found a solution online but had some questions about it. I reviewed the work he did on probability and vectors - no major issues, although he did miss one small but important fact about cross-multiplication. We moved on to sequences, series, and sigma notation. I went over the main concepts and definitions and we worked on problems from his review packet. Overall, the extent to which the student appears to be absorbing this material is impressive.

The student and I had a good session. We continued to focus on foundational skills for 7th grade. We extended our investigation of fractions concepts to decimals and worked on conversion and percents. His homework is to prepare for a quick fire percents quiz.

Tutoring review by Esther in Tribeca, NY
The student has test #2 tomorrow. She did not get a review sheet, but her teacher indicated which homework to review. We worked through all of the homework questions together (including some extras for good measure). She seemed a little lost at the beginning, but was able to pick up on the different operations. We agreed that she needs the most practice with one-step equations, so I gave her some additional workbook practice in that and simplifying polynomials.

Tutoring review by Paris in Tribeca, NY
The student and I covered the photoelectric effects, quantum states of electronic energy, electron configuration, energy of photons, and the electromagnetic spectrum. As we continued to work through the problems, there were many "Ah ha's!" with him, and he was slowly starting to understand the concepts in greater detail. By the end of the session, he had a greater hold of the concepts. If he continues to complete additional practice problems, it will help to boost his score.

Tutoring review by Mark in Tribeca, NY
We covered the topics of collinearity in regression analysis. We discussed how to test for collinearity. We also discussed data transforms to correct for skewness of data as well as utilization of quadratic equations to increase the goodness of fit for a regression model. The student did well with all the concepts, and had a good attitude toward the material covered. Strategies discussed were for the use of available software packages (SPSS, graphpad, Excel) for statistics computations. She still had homework problems to complete by the end of the session that would take time based on how fast her computer could calculate the regression analysis. She had received a 92 on her previous stats test.
