As a tutor, I always ensure that my students have a good qualitative understanding of the subjects they are struggling in before helping them with quantitative problems. For example, rather than simply telling my calculus students the formula for integration by parts, I first show them how it is derived so they acquire a good grasp of how it operates. Working as a tutor for biology, organic chemistry, general chemistry, and neuroscience, I actively implemented this philosophy, finding creative ways to approach complex concepts. For example, I might steer a writing student studying organic chemistry to explain a reaction as a narrative of molecular interactions, rather than beginning with a complex problem. AP Tutoring FAQ
AP课程的额外的挑战可以支付off in the form of college credits - if you succeed on the exams. Each AP course aims to challenge you with college-level coursework as you work hard and really delve into the material. You don't want that extra challenge to turn into something overwhelming and stressful. If you need some support in one or more AP courses, consider AP tutoring. No matter where in the US you reside, experienced and enthusiastic AP tutors can give you the individual support that you need to feel confident and prepared to face the daily demands of your AP classes.
大学导师可以帮助。fi是最重要的nd the AP tutor who best suits you, taking into account your concerns, strengths and weaknesses, learning style, and even personality. Once we've helped you selected the right tutor, she or he can begin designing a custom lesson plan around the concepts you need to work on. They can address any concerns you may have about your level of understanding in your AP classes. Because AP tutoring is always one on one, your tutor can customize the program to your needs. You set your own goals, and your tutor helps you achieve them. Your tutor can answer all of the questions that you have and help you to utilize the other resources that you have at your disposal. He or she can also help you to understand the fundamentals of the material and apply them to new situations. Your tutor can even familiarize you with the format of your particular AP exam and the content it covers, to help prevent you from encountering unwanted surprises on test day.
Falling behind in an AP class can leave you with missed opportunities. A tutor will work with you in an environment where you can feel free to bring up any questions, and provide the necessary help outside the classroom. Class teachers are often too busy to address the individual concerns of students, so you may find many topics go overlooked when you could use some more time on them. A personal tutor's purpose is to spend that valuable time going over what troubles you the most. For many people, AP tutoring can help pave the way to more success and higher grades. It certainly maximizes the chances of doing well, because you get more exposure to the subject matter.
You may be in AP English, or a math or science course. Either way, the level of expectation is much higher than in a regular course. This can leave you stressed or with the fear of falling behind in the work. A tutor can even help to reduce the anxieties you may have so you have a clearer head, without all the worry holding you back. The great thing is that you can discuss directly with your AP tutor exactly what you don't understand as well as you think you should, and what your goals are in achieving success in the class. Once you do that, the tutor has a direction to go in and will customize each lesson according to your own level of understanding, and what you are capable of achieving during each session.

Recent AP Tutoring Session Notes
The student returned her science test today and saw marked improvement from previous test scores. In the last bit of our session we discussed goals. She and I listed out several academic, social, and athletic goals and talked about things she could do each day to reach those goals.
The student made a to-do list of his homework. He worked on his math packet, a sources cited worksheet for his Egyptian research, and another packet on Egypt about a future archaeologist and what they might discover about our culture.
The student had his academic planner with him, so he was told to plan out February and taught how to keep track of his assignments, quizzes, and tests. We then spent the rest of the session organizing the remaining sections of his binder and learning how to keep that maintained. Next week we are working on English and French.
The student and I completed her Spanish worksheets, and studied for her upcoming quiz on direct object pronouns and stem-changing verbs. We reviewed and set up a general outline for her comparative analysis essay in English. We also reviewed how to write a thesis. We completed a third revision on her orchestra paper for an upcoming competition. She agreed to work on a more specific outline before our next meeting. We discussed organization and keeping her papers in the correct folder.
The student and I went over her science test from last week and discussed the answers she got incorrect. She finished her math homework for the week and is not aware of any tests or any more homework before next Monday.
The student worked on proofreading and rewriting a persuasive paper on the negative effects of violent video games on teens. He learned how to write an anecdote and used one in his paper. We also looked over his note taking for history. He knows that he has to summarize at the end of his notes. He is going to call me during the week if he needs help with any of his understanding of his notes this week.
