Teaching foreign languages is my life, and I am a committed teacher. I understand that students of a foreign language need to be inspired constantly, because even if they come to the first class motivated and eager to learn, they soon find out that learning a language is hard work, that it takes countless hours to learn vocabulary and grammar. For this reason, motivation becomes a key factor: learning a new language should always be fun and exciting. I want my students to walk out of the classroom at the end of a lesson with the certainty that today they learned something new, something they can use. They need to know that they can begin to function in a new language in a relatively short amount of time, as they each day leave the classroom proud of their new accomplishments. In my classroom every student has a voice.
Over the years, I have often been told that I am a gifted teacher, who inspires students to do their very best. I am absolutely passionate about education, and every time I walk into a classroom, I learn something myself, too. One of the most important aspects of teaching is understanding that no two classrooms are ever exactly alike, and it is important to always strive to be in tune with each individual student in the class. Above all, the classroom should always be an enjoyable workplace. Another experienced teacher once told me: Just before you open the door to your classroom, doorknob in hand, you quietly say to yourself: I love you all. It works every time.
My hobbies include painting and drawing, hiking, traveling. I love to go on road trips, just get in my car and drive to places I've never seen before or to visit old friends. I really like to read and try to read every day. And I love to watch movies. That's a great way to relax.
