Today we reviewed for the student's calculus test tomorrow. I have revisited some challenging concepts such as continuity and finding limits of a rational functions. With the cases of defined, nonzero/ zero, which is undefined, and the indeterminate form 0/0, which leads to either the "defined" or "undefined" case by dividing out common factors. Tutoring review by Esther in Haverhill, MA
The student had a quiz on Friday on 2 step equations that she found difficult, so we tried to work on that today. We were able to get through addition/subtraction 1 step equations fairly easily, but she had some trouble with the multiplication/division equations. We did a lot of practice--both together and individually--and by the end, she felt much more comfortable solving equations. I gave her some additional workbook pages on 2 step, multi-step, and variable on both side equations that I think will be very helpful.
