hello, I am Divyan. I am an Engineer with majors in Electronics from Indian Institute of Technology.I have been teaching Physics since the past 3 years to students from College Level,
High School Level including AP Physics.

Physics is all about "Feeling" nature around us and how things work.
Its the most logical and observable subject. Once the student starts observing physics around him the momentum goes on.

While teaching I follow the Socratic method which involves a shared dialogue between teacher and students. The teacher leads by posing thought-provoking questions. Students actively engage by asking questions of their own. The discussion goes back and forth. This promotes critical thinking and allows me to explore the underlying beliefs that shape the students views and opinions.

I believe in staying with my students till they are confidant enough to take up the
problems independently even after the session. Cheers.

Q & A

What is your teaching philosophy?

While teaching, I follow the Socratic method, which involves a shared dialogue between teacher and students. The teacher leads by posing thought-provoking questions. Students actively engage by asking questions of their own. The discussion goes back and forth. This promotes critical thinking and allows me to explore the underlying beliefs that shape the students' views and opinions.

What might you do in a typical first session with a student?

I would like to focus on dialogue with the student and ask his goals and objectives. I would try to figure out the areas in which he/she needs more attention. I would guide him/her with the basic tips to take on Physics.

How can you help a student become an independent learner?

An independent thinker can become an independent learner. It requires concentration of mind and energy over the subject. This process is gradual, and each time we repeat the chapter, it becomes more clear.

How would you help a student stay motivated?

Once a student is able to understand the problem and solve it independently, Physics seems to look easy and the target achievable.
