What is your teaching philosophy?

As a teacher, my role in the classroom is that of a catalyst for education. I believe that students go through a series of crises through their education, and it is my role to help them in making those transitions. Cooperative learning is a key component in this.

What might you do in a typical first session with a student?

Find out their strengths and weaknesses by looking at previous completed work, followed by looking at upcoming assignments for class.

If a student has difficulty learning a skill or concept, what would you do?

I would find the root of the misunderstanding and teach to that gap in their education.

What techniques would you use to be sure that a student understands the material?

I have students teach me about material to make sure they understand it. If they are comfortable enough to instruct me on it, then they have a firm grasp on the material.
