As for my teaching philosophy, I've always been an advocate of "You can lead a horse to water, but you cannot make him drink". It's one thing for me to simply lecture about a topic, but it's another thing for me to lead a student through the concept and have them arrive at proven statistical conclusions on their own. That "lightbulb" moment is what I always strive for, and it is so much more gratifying when a student reaches this understanding after going through the logic and critical thinking of WHY a concept is the way it is. Outside of academics I have numerous interests. I enjoy American and English literature, and I'm currently working on a novel. I also practice Mixed Martial Arts, so when I'm not tutoring/studying I will usually be sparring. I played football, soccer and ran track for most of my life, so I definitely consider myself to be a lifelong athlete.
