I am an undergraduate student at Arizona State University studying Computer Science and Physics. I graduated from Chandler-Gilbert Community College with an Associate's in Science and an Associate's in Art while I was in high school via dual-enrollment. In my senior year, I was captain of the Public Forum debate team; since graduating I've had the pleasure of traveling around the country as a Public Forum debate coach and judge. I tutor a myriad of subjects, but I specialize in preparation for standardized tests (SAT/ACT/AP), mathematics, physics, and debate. I am passionate about tutoring because I've seen it make a world of a difference in my experiences as student, peer, and mentor. One-on-one tutoring short-circuits the downfalls of large classes, difficulty approaching teachers, and incongruences in learning/teaching style. I feel an equal responsibility to students whose abilities are hampered by their classes and to students who are being left behind by their classes. I believe building rapport and trust with my students is the key to success; I try to do this by cultivating a casual and relaxed learning environment where my students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes. I much prefer allowing students to discover the correct answer/approach themselves over having me dictate to them. If I'm not working, I'm probably listening to music, watching basketball, immersing myself in a TV show or movie, arguing about politics, or playing video games.
