我是埃默里大学的应届毕业生。我衰退ived my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a minor in Sociology. I have experience tutoring younger elementary-aged children in reading and math from my time in high school. The subjects that interest me most are Psychology, the Social Sciences, and English. However, I am most passionate about tutoring because I understand that education is a gateway to a plethora of opportunities, and it is important to provide children with the proper tools they need to succeed in whichever endeavor they may choose. Additionally, I know what it is like to need extra assistance in various academic subjects and not have access to the necessary resources. Given these recent unprecedented times, I am particularly aware of the fact that not every child's individual academic needs are being met to the desired standards. Therefore, I want to bridge any gaps in mastery by providing the patience and time required to meet one's goals. I have found that when instructors place importance on students' preferred learning style(s) (visual, auditory, tactile, etc.), it not only provides the latter with teaching methods that work best for their understanding of a subject, but it also encourages students to be self-advocates for their education by giving them the freedom and space to vocalize what works for them, and what does not - as they are ultimately in control of their academic destiny. Overall, I want to ensure that I provide a thorough learning experience for students and also emphasize the importance of open and secure camaraderie between student and tutor. In addition to tutoring, I plan on exploring my options in various graduate programs this year in hopes of becoming a Licensed Professional Counselor. In my spare time, I enjoy watching Netflix, YouTube, FaceTiming my family and friends, and singing.
