I am currently a medical student at the Northwestern University Feinberg School of
Medicine. Prior to moving to Chicago, I graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with
a BS in Neuroscience and minors in Chemistry and History. During my medical career, I
hope to teach, in addition to practicing in a clinical setting, as I served as a TA and tutor
for 3 years in college and get a lot of satisfaction out of helping students understand
complex concepts. Although I have been successful in hard science classes throughout
my education, I have struggled with the complex material and leaned on professors and
peers to help me understand. Thus, I believe that in order to truly understand something
it's natural to struggle, otherwise you are simply memorizing which isn't helpful in the
long run. Because of this, I like to meet students where they are at and work with them
to increase their understanding rather than lecturing at them. I do this by relating
abstract concepts to real life application. Biology lends itself to this type of application,
which is why it's my favorite subject to tutor. However, I also enjoy tutoring students in
Biochemistry, Chemistry, and all sections of the MCAT as well as the STEP 1 and STEP
