What is your teaching philosophy?
我相信每个人都有不同的草地rning. What works for one person does not always work for someone else. What I like to do is get to know my student and use analogies and anecdotes that are relatable to them, and that would allow them to understand difficult concepts with ease.
What might you do in a typical first session with a student?
I'll first ask them to explain to me how much they understand about the topic I'll be tutoring, and would ask them if there are any specific issues they'd like to work on. I'd also like to know if there is anything that works or doesn't work in the way they study, so I can gauge their strengths and weaknesses.
How can you help a student become an independent learner?
Yes, I always teach my students methods and techniques they can use on their own, and that can be used in more than one specific area or topic. I believe that it is more important to teach someone how to learn than how to memorize.
How would you help a student stay motivated?
I'd try to relate the topics we are reviewing to other aspects of their lives so they can understand it better.
