Currently I am a Phd student in Philosophy, in a cotutelle program in Bologna (Italy) and Quebec (Canada).
I am perfectly fluent in Italian and English, being bilingual.
I have written and published in both languages.
Being in Quebec and studying from French authors, my level of French is good.
I have obtained my Masters degree in Philosophy and during my undergraduate program I have majored both in Philosophy and Economics; all, with the highest grades and honor qualifications.
In the past years I have thought Philosophy at a Lyceum in Italy. Currently , while working on my doctorate, I am a research assistant for my director of thesis.
Being interested in Philosophy I am interested in a wide range of subjects.
I am a very quick learner and love learning to things. This allows me to review and explain new materials in a quite rapid time.
Working for academic research, I have plenty experience in editing, revising, commenting and checking for grammatical errors for written texts.
I am good in brainstorming ideas, discussing and creating outlines for writing papers.
I have started tutoring since high-school by a demand of my professors who would ask me to help students in difficulty. Then I have continued in college, where I have been the teacher assistant for various professors.
I have given lectures, presentations in public and thought classes to various kinds of students: from young elementary and middle-class students to adults, from high-school students at the beginning of their academic career to experts of the field.
These experiences gave me good public speaking skills.
I have a strong passion for studying and I love sharing this passion with people.
For this reason I enjoy and find it easy to walk students through their understanding.
My method is that of breaking down the concepts to their simplest form.
Though, accordingly, I can easily adapt to the needs of the student.
I strongly believe that helping students renders me a better teacher; so, for this reason I welcome lots of questions and critiques so that I can become clearer and more refined in my explanations.
I am very careful at listening at the students needs. I put lots of work, but I also demand work and seriousness in return. This though with a light spirit that belongs to my character, since I love joking.
My curiosity is my virtue. I pay very close attention to small details, which allows me to understand better what I am studying. From this I can clarify the smallest doubts that students may arise.
My fundamental goal is: comprehension.
More than all, students working with me will learn an effective method.
Gaining both the success of their needs and an overall approach to understanding that can be applied also to other domains.
I do not only live in academia; in fact, I have worked also for corporations, so I understand the importance of converting theory into practice.
In my personal life, I enjoy writing, swimming, drawing, dancing and playing chess.
I know the values of responsibility and of helping others to ameliorate.
p.s. I have a wonderful girlfriend from Naples. Her name is Claudia Mancini and she studies both Chinese and English at the Orientale University of Naples.
If there is need of extra Italian Conversation lessons in private or even in group (as me and her talking), she is very sweet and available to help.
Thanks for you time!
