I want to help you reach your academic and career goals so that you can have the same pride and satisfaction in your chosen profession as I have experienced. I believe I am qualified to help you reach your goals because of my unique background and experience. Throughout my career as an RN, Pediatric Nurse Practitioner, and Drug Safety Specialist in the biotech industry, I have always trained and mentored students at every level nursing students, nurse practitioner students, medical students, ancillary health personnel, and members of my biotech team. In addition, I have taught at numerous nursing conferences and presented seminars to parents, health care personnel, and teachers. I have always had a love of learning and have been academically successful, and believe I can support you because of my own experience.
I received my B.S.N. degree from the University of Michigan School of Nursing and my M.S. in Nursing from California State University, Long Beach. Pediatrics has always been my passion, but I am well-versed and experienced in all aspects of nursing, medicine, and health and wellness. I tutor in all Nursing subjects, Human Development, Nutrition, Medicine, Adult Health and Wellness, Medical Terminology, and Study Skills. My favorite subject to tutor is any and all things related to Pediatrics and disease pathology.
My teaching philosophy and tutoring style is that of a mentor. I want to be your guide and support you in learning the information necessary to give you confidence in the knowledge that is expected of you to do well in both an individual class as well as completion of your program of study. As a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner, my subspecialty area was Behavioral Pediatrics which encompassed assessing and treating patients with Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), learning disabilities/differences, and neurodevelopmental disorders. For this reason, I am well-versed in different learning styles and have a heightened awareness that each individual has his/her own unique learning style. My philosophy is to determine your learning style and adapt your tutoring to what best works for you.
