I am a graduate of Union College in Lincoln, Nebraska where I received my Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education. Since graduation, I have taught in several states focusing on K-5 education. While I tutor a broad range of subjects I am most passionate about English Language Arts and Mathematics. In my experience helping struggling students with English Language Arts, we have the most fun (with documented improvement) working through phonics, reading comprehension and grammar skills. I believe the best education prepares students to work, learn and grow effectively in their areas of interest, while recognizing this sometimes means students need help in areas that they don't find naturally interesting. In my spare time I enjoy reading historic fiction, playing board games, and practicing the piano.
