I am a graduate of Southeast Missouri State University. I received my Bachelor of Arts in Secondary Education with a focus on Social Studies. Since graduation, I spent several years working as a Library Assistant at a middle school. While working in the field of Library Science, I helped students access and use various resources, while teaching effective research methods. I have also worked as a Substitute Teacher, mostly working in English and Social Studies classrooms. While I can tutor several subjects, I am most passionate about Study Skills/Test Prep, Literature, and History. I enjoy working with a wide range of students, and helping find the best method of learning for each individual student. I believe everyone has the right to an education, and that every student has a specific method that works for them. It is my goal, to help students who struggle from testing anxiety or become easily frustrated, find techniques that help aid them in the learning process. Studying a specific subject should not be a daunting task. It is my hope, that through tutoring, I can help students relate to the topic they are learning, while enjoying the process. We will work together as a team to set an achievable goal, which we will work towards each session.
