I am a graduate of the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs and have a degree in English along with a Teacher Certification/ESL endorsement. As the spouse of a retired Army Officer, I have traveled overseas and have been actively involved in the education of my own children during their tenure at schools that are public, private and DoDDS. I have been a Writing Consultant at the College Level; additionally, I have taught English and ESL Academic Writing, Grammar and Reading at the high school level and I have also taught Social Studies and RTI ELA at the Jr. High(7-8)Level. I believe in a growth mindset and build reflection and self-awareness into the reading and writing process through guidance and questioning. My goal is to help students learn to advocate on their own behalf, taking charge of their own learning and progress.
