As a graduate of University of Phoenix, AIL and Lamar University. I've been in the education field for 20+ years. I've taught elementary, middle, high school and vocational programs for adult learners. Working with non-verbal, autistic, life skills and behavior challenged students have also increased my ability to communicate and educate effectively in diverse circumstances. I'm a passionate educator and have been known to extend my skills beyond the classroom in outside youth programs including tutoring. I have degrees in Education and Business which gives me the opportunity to merge the two for effective classroom management and leadership opportunities. I have a very interactive teaching style which includes a lot of color, props, engagement, and praise. I utilize several resources (visual and audio) with other tools to keep students engaged which is both motivational and transformational in learning. My academic preparation and experience as an Educator, tutor and youth leader has enabled me to adapt to different learning methods and styles. I have a Masters degree in Education which extends my passion for teaching. Some of my favorite subjects to teach and tutor are reading, language arts, writing, ELA, social studies, business, marketing, history, basic math and vocational studies. In retrospect, teaching and tutoring have afforded me the chance to make an impact on several student lives. It is my personal goal to make sure students progress towards their academic and/or life goals. I prepare realistic plans for success with accountability expectations for each student to promote academic enhancement in a strong learning environment while in my care.
