I am a senior undergraduate studying at the Loyola University of Chicago, majoring in biology. Over the past years, I have been working, tutoring, and pursuing my ambition in the medical field. My favorite subject is biology as it has always intrigued me since childhood which led me to work towards a major in biology. My extracurriculars include listening to music, playing my guitar, traveling, drawing, and writing in my leisure time! I also enjoy watching soccer! I look forward to teaching the science subjects.
我的教学哲学是真正享受过程ss of learning. Not only does it help accomplish things but seeing it as a friend that you can happily defeat in a race to reach a step higher to achieve your goals. During the past years till today, I preach and firmly believe that loving, enjoying, working diligently, and truly comprehending the subjects you are learning instead of forcing them on you, will only make learning all the more valuable. My teaching style includes rapport-building and making sure to always resort to teaching rudimentary concepts when being stagnant. I have always found time outside of my undergraduate education for my tutoring volunteering services, and during my teaching assistant experiences to go out of my way and assist my peers in attaining a higher score.
I am a person who is driven by passion and new challenges as I continue on my journey of pursuing my ambition. As I continue to do this every day I make sure to enjoy the process of learning. Moreover, every time I lose my motivation I remind myself why I started this, what sparked me in the first place, and where I am going.
The reason why I am with Varsity Tutors, is because upon my volunteering as a tutor, teaching younger kids, I realized that teaching is synonymous with being responsible for the child, as education is one's most precious asset. During this time, I noticed how withdrawn students were in these tough times and made sure to build connections that surpass the academics. I am comprehensive of the child, I am tutoring, and sure to provide constant constructive feedback. I am an active listener and over the years of volunteering and working as a teacher assistant in my freshman year, I recognized my passion for teaching. These qualities I embody will definitely help me contribute my best to this job.
