I have loved math for as long as I can remember. One of my earliest memories was understanding the concept of multiplication by studying a six-pack of soda in a supermarket. I recently graduated UCLA with a bachelor's degree in economics and a minor in mathematics. My goal is to attain a Ph.D. in preparation for conducting further research and teaching at the university level. I have an interest in applied statistics, data analysis, and machine learning. Previously, I have conducted independent research about applying machine learning algorithms to better predict inflation in the American economy and have worked as a data analyst on a project analyzing the impacts of immigration raids on trust between the community and police. I have prior experiences teaching as a private math tutor, mixed martial arts instructor, and president of one of UCLA's finance clubs. I have taught all ages of students from as young as 3 years old to graduate students. My two core teaching philosophies are "understand what the student needs" and "perfect practice makes perfect."
