I graduated from Brigham Young University with a Bachelor's of Science in Public Health. After a few years of doing other things, I start medical school this fall at the University of Utah.

As a nontraditional student, I was the only person in my town applying to medical school. I also had a baby a few months before my MCAT date, so I did most of my studying with a newborn on my chest. Without support from classmates or friends, preparing for the MCAT felt lonely and confusing, but making a strong plan was key.

With my roadmap in hand, the massive amount of content on the MCAT seemed less overwhelming. Knowing the content is only half of the MCAT battle! Being able to digest passages and reason through questions is just as important as knowing the right answers.
