I graduated from Texas A&M University with a degree in biochemistry and genetics. During my undergraduate years, I worked in a bacterial research lab in the Department of Biochemistry and Biophysics. There my interests were to understand the relationship between extracellular vesicle formation and linearmycin production by a linear polyketide synthase cluster in Streptomyces sp. Mg1. I also have experience working as Peer-Led Team Leader for the Department of Chemistry helping to tutor and teach physical chemistry to those current students. Since graduation, I worked as a research assistant at McGovern Medical School where I conducted research on the promiscuity of conjugative type IV secretion systems in gram-negative bacteria in Houston, Texas and am currently working to gain acceptance to medical school. My promise as a tutor is to work as hard as I can to help students reach their full potential in the courses they are having trouble with. I believe that anyone can learn anything despite the difficulty. It is just a matter of finding the right method to teach, a patient teacher, and the right resources. My experiences working as a tutor and researcher have granted me the ability to think quickly and teach patiently and I'm excited to work with anyone who is seeking to fill the gaps in their knowledge.
