Hello! My name is Emily, and I am currently a fifth year PhD candidate at UNC Chapel Hill in the pharmaceutical sciences division of pharmacoengineering. My undergraduate degree was in cell and molecular biology. I was a teaching assistant for senior undergraduates for one year, and am currently a research mentor for junior undergraduate and graduate students in my department. I also serve as a peer mentor and previously as a dean's student ambassador, where my role was designed to help students in the transition into college and graduate school. My dissertation project is focused on biomaterials, bioinformatics, and molecular biology, so I have a passion for teaching biology in a way that makes it relevant for every day life.
