I am a graduate student from Old Dominion University with Bachelor of Science degree. I underwent minor concentration in Secondary Education, where I was a student of the MonarchTeach Program. This program taught me the strategies to teach elementary, middle, and high school. During this program, I did an internship as a student teacher at the Children's Museum of Virginia. This internship focused on conducting science-based experiments for summer enrichment camp. My experience teaching ages 3-12 campers a specific content relating to a theme, helped them better understand and apply to real world application. I was a tutor for ManBasch Program at James Monroe Elementary School. I taught fifth through twelfth grade by helping them with their homework, reading a book along with discussion, and doing enrichment activities. Also, I critiqued their essay papers to help win a scholarship. This experienced influenced me to help individuals improve in their reading and writing skills. Although I tutor English, Math is my favorite subject because I like to do step by step methods in solving variety of problems. I assisted fifth, eighth, and tenth graders with their math homework and prepared them for the SOL. I provided SOL practice tests from different years and assisted with explaining questions they didn't understand. Also, I provided worksheet packets that focused on overview of the content, in which it allowed them to apply the knowledge they obtained into taking the SOL practice test without my assistance.
