The sustained development of confident readers and writers requires support and honest feedback, as well as the essential belief that each student can improve, regardless of past experience or current achievement level. My experience at Texas State University tutoring at the university writing center for several years, teaching freshmen composition, and studying Rhetoric and Composition has prepared me to tutor professionally across age groups. Not only am I prepared, I am enthusiastic about the work and opportunity to help my students improve and gain confidence in their abilities.
