Experienced tutor and qualified Civil Engineer, in the process of applying for a Masters Course.

I have spent much of my time since graduating tutoring Maths and Physics at a range of levels and I enjoy it thoroughly. My interests lie in Hydrology, Water Resources Management and Renewable Energy Systems. As such, I have begun to apply for related Masters courses to begin in Autumn 2020.

At their core, Maths and Physics are my favourite subjects, and having excelled in both the opportunity to study them with others and pass on my knowledge is a pleasure on my behalf, and it is why I enjoy tutoring.

Currently, I tutor Maths and Physics one-on-one to GCSE and A-Level students. I started after finishing my degree, at a centre in Beeston called BEST Learning. During this time, I also taught at group sessions ran by an organisation called MagiKats, teaching Maths to students up to and including GCSE level. Since, I have moved solely into private tuition.

It is important first to find out what the student would like to gain. Whether they want to target a certain set of topics, strengthen their core abilities, or to improve their subject knowledge as a whole will decide the nature of our sessions.

For a large proportion of both Maths and Physics, practice makes perfect. As such, I spend much of my sessions going through questions. Using different resources, including textbooks and past papers, I can gauge the student's abilities and level of understanding in different areas and topics. Through this, we can review and tackle the students weaknesses.

Most of the time, practice questions will be enough to improve a student's confidence. Some subject areas however, require a deeper look into the key concepts and the student's core abilities. This forms the other portion of my sessions.
