I am working on a Bachelor's degree in Modern Language at the University of Louisiana at Monroe. I have tutored high school students in French and Spanish, and have tutored a bit in math as well. I have worked with students between toddler age in daycare, all the way to high school. For example, I assistant-taught a second grade class at a church.

I tutor English, French, and Spanish. My favorite subject to tutor is French - I've been passionate about the language since I began learning it at fourteen years old.

My teaching philosophy is to go about your lessons in different ways until the student understands the content. A part of this philosophy is to never recite textbook or PowerPoint readings, but to instead make the learning engaging with enthusiasm, personally crafted thoughts (discussion-like learning), and visuals.

My interests include fitness (I love running and weight-lifting), film and movies (I could watch a new movie almost every night), reading (when I have the time!), writing (I mostly write poetry for readers on my blog!), spending time with my family, immersing myself in nature, and exploring new places (different cities, different states, wherever I can go!). I am also a caf and bakery enthusiast. Ice cream is one of my favorite things ever.

One thing I would like to say to all students, whether I work with you in the future or not, is that learning does NOT have to be boring or unpleasant. It should definitely never be upsetting or stressful. LEARNING is simply seeing, experiencing, and understanding NEW THINGS. Why wouldn't you want to fill your brain with different things? You'll always have something to talk about, always have something to think about, always have something new to experience. Open your mind to learning new things, whether it's German or how to make a cinnamon role, and I promise, life is going to be so much more exciting.
