I am a recent graduate from the University of Colorado at Boulder. I double majored in Linguistics and German Studies and graduated with distinction. I hope to attend graduate school this upcoming fall in German Studies. I have had a number of teaching and tutoring experiences throughout my high school and college careers, both in academic and in other settings. In high school I was a member of German Honor Society and tutored fellow students in German. During my sophomore year at CU Boulder, I served as a teacher's assistant for high school level German courses (German 1 - German 3/4 Honors). In my junior year, I was a teacher's assistant for an interdisciplinary Philosophy-Literature-Film course at the undergraduate level. I have tutored students at the beginning through advanced levels of German and have aided students with essay writing and editing. As a part of my linguistics major, I took a course on teaching grammar to ESL students, and tutored an undergraduate student on English essay writing and oral presentations throughout the Spring 2017 semester. I am a real grammar and language fan (or maybe fanatic!), and I possess a sharp eye for errors, so I feel comfortable helping others with writing and editing. My teaching style has also been influenced by my time working as a conservation assistant at my university's library, where I taught classes to undergraduates on methods of book-binding, and trained coworkers on how to repair books.

When I'm not pursuing my academic interests, I can be found sketching, reading, hiking, skiing, playing video games, or listening to music at home with my cat. I'm an avid reader, a sci-fi fan, a wannabe artist, and a nerd for language. My interests include literature, writing, travel, foreign languages, art, and design. I am an advocate for the value of a liberal arts education and I hope to impart my enthusiasm for the humanities onto others. Most of all I would characterize myself as a true lover of learning, no matter the subject. I look forward to working with you!
