I just graduated from UCSD with a B.S. in Physiology and Neuroscience. My GPA was 3.75. I'm currently interviewing for medical school while I complete a gap year. In college, I was a volunteer tutor for a student organization in which I taught organic chemistry and physiology. I was a Teaching Assistant for the Gifted Students Academy at UCI during which I taught science, math, and other subjects to middle and high school students. I was also a Teaching Assistant in a Metabolic Brain Disorders course at UCSD during which I was responsible for the learning of 40 students. My youngest brother is currently in high school and I often help him study for his courses, including algebra and physiology. I love tutoring because it gives me an opportunity to inspire kids to love STEM. I believe that scientists are born from teachers who care enough to show their students how amazing and fun science can be. I am a very visual and hands-on learner myself so I will often choose to employ similar methods to teach.

I love math. I always have. I have taken math courses throughout high school and into college up to Vector Geometry. I chose to take the Engineering level math in college even though it was not required for my major. I often tutor my siblings in math. My favorite math subject is Geometry because the problems remind me of puzzles.

Science is my life. I have taken courses in physics, chemistry, biology, biochemistry, ecology, endocrinology, neuroscience, you name it. I have tutored college students in both general chemistry and organic chemistry as well as physiology. I often also tutor my brother for his Anatomy and Physiology course in high school. When I was a TA, we focused on biochemistry and physiology and its relationship with nutrition and lifestyle. Because of my coursework and experiences, I know of many real-world applications that I can use to help make science far more interesting to learn.

I would love to help your child discover how interesting science and math can be. Please contact me if your child is struggling with STEM courses or perhaps just wishes to learn their coursework in more depth. My schedule is very flexible and I would be happy to drive to meet you. Feel free to contact me if you have any questions and to schedule lessons.
