I'm a junior studying Elementary Education. I first found my love for learning when I was in high school. I had learning difficulties most of my life that made it hard for me to enjoy learning because I didn't have a support team that worked for me. It wasn't until freshman year of high school that I met the teacher that created the learning environment for me that instilled a passion for learning that has not left me to this day. This teacher has brought me to the decision that I wanted to help students who faced the same feelings about school as I did. Because of this, I have chosen the career path of teaching, and I couldn't imagine it any other way. I am truly interested in helping Elementary school students succeed and believe in their abilities and find a life long love for learning.

I am a Junior at Western Connecticut State University studying Elementary Education. In this program, we are required to have 20 hours of observations in local schools, but have over 100 hours of observations logged in 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 7th grade classrooms. In these observations, I am able to teach lessons along side of the teacher or all by myself, the lesson for that day using Common Core standard curriculum.

I have been working with Common Core since I have started college, and have taken many courses that explain how to use and teach common core. Although it is a confusing area of learning based off of its careful attention to detail in mathematics, reading and writing standards, I am well versed in the standards and how to teach them in each subject area.

Some awards I have received are the National Honor Society of Leadership and Success in the Spring of 2016, Dean's list recipient for Fall 2016 with a 3.55 GPA, and Dean's list recipient for Spring 2017 with a 3.97 GPA.

I am an extremely motivated person and want nothing more than to help students gain the same kind of motivation towards school. I look forward to meeting, and teaching your student and helping them find their life long love for learning.
