I am a first year undergraduate student at the University of Colorado Colorado Springs. I plan to receive my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology in 2021. As someone who has struggled through school due to stress from personal problems, I aim to help students work through stress and persevere through challenging work. I have helped friends and fellow classmates to understand challenging concepts through high school and I continue to help them when they need it. I tutor in Algebra 1, High School English, and Pre-Algebra. I am passionate about Algebra 1 because that was the subject in which I had the best teacher who helped me to grasp concepts seen in Algebra 1 and Pre-Algebra. My personal philosophy in teaching is based in my own learning style. A student best learns when they are allowed to ask questions and take as much time as they need in the concepts they find the most difficult. The basis of my tutoring will be rooted in helping students to understand those concepts. In my free time, I engage in writing poetry, reading, acting, singing, and helping my friends with homework they find especially difficult.
