I have an academic background in mathematical and computational approaches to biochemical problems, and a personal background in absolutely loving life and the process of learning and discovering how it works. To me, real learning, the kind that sticks, the kind that builds things and changes the world, is the inevitable outcome of fascination with the world around us. Teaching, then, is nothing but showing a student how to be fascinated, and communicating the process of hard work and diligence that is absolutely critical to satisfying that fascination.
