My first experience in tutoring occurred during a College Calculus course. After spending four hours with my professor, I proudly submitted my assignment for grading the following day. My scores were tallied, and I received only a 70%. When I asked about my grade, my teacher shrugged his shoulders and said, "Well ??? I guess I showed you the wrong way. Maybe you shouldn't have listened to me."
Since that day, I vowed to use my passion for education to help students succeed, according to each person's unique abilities. While I tutor a broad range of subjects, I am most passionate about Biology, Chemistry, and Mathematics because these are subjects in which most bright, hardworking students give up.
I am a graduate of Arizona State University where I earned a BS in Biochemistry. Since graduation, I worked in laboratories that explored molecular biology, pharmaceutical formulation, microbiology, and chemistry before earning a MBA in 2011. From that point on, I focused on educating young adult workers in science, mathematics, compliance, and technical training. I am now enrolled in a Secondary Teacher Certification program and will earn my Master's in Educational Technology from Boise State University next April.
I find education to be the Great Equalizer ??? a way of unlocking self-fulfillment not only for a few, but for all. As a teacher, my passion is to help students realize their innate greatness, and reveal that each person's gift is equally important and powerful. We are all built with a purpose, and mine is to encourage, mentor, and support our students in realizing their potential. I share my love of education through reading, serving, and sharing my knowledge with my school-aged sons and daughter.
