Hello!

米y name is Daisy, I have a Bachelor's of Science in Microbiology and Immunology, and a Masters of Science in Biomedical Forensic Science.

I began tutoring at the age of 16 at my local library. I worked with students between the ages of 6 - 18 in math and science courses. In college, during the summer sessions, I worked with groups of High School students in different summer programs. Some of these programs focused in pre-medical studies such as a 3 week epidemiology course, and another program focused in college preparation courses at Columbia University. More recently, during my master's program I worked part time at Boston University Student Athlete Support Services tutoring college students in science, sociology, and anthropology courses.

In my spare time, I enjoy reading, playing board games, running, and trying new restaurants!

Q & A

What is your teaching philosophy?

米y teaching philosophy is "See one, do one, teach one!" I believe in interacting with students, and I know that they have finally understood the material when they are able to go out and show someone else what they have learned in their own words.

What might you do in a typical first session with a student?

I would introduce myself, ask them about themselves, and review the material and subjects they have on a broad level to get an understanding of where they are along their studies. I normally like to dive right in during the second half of the first session, but only after I get an understanding of what the student already understands and what they have trouble with.
