What is your teaching philosophy?
Personalized learning is critical to the instructional process because it puts the needs of the child first. It is significant that teachers teach to each child, as opposed to just the entire class. All students have different skills and attributes, and should, therefore, be seen as individuals. We have to differentiate instruction and help each student meet his/her personalized goals on an individual basis. This approach disproves the theory that all students should be on the same level and follow the same curriculum. Certainly, there are goals and state standards, but we have to be flexible and deliver instruction in various methods to ensure that each student has mastered each skill before he/she can move on. By treating students all the same, we are generalizing and assuming that all brains work the same, which they do not, so we have to tailor our pedagogy.
