What is your teaching philosophy?

One way I would help a student stay motivated is to reward the "boring" or "dry" parts of the lesson with custom fun activities that are both relevant to the lesson/subject and the student's interests. For example, Latin can become heavily focused on grammar (dry), but at the end of a grammar lesson there are many different ways to use what we have learned, such as translating "an ancient curse tablet", or "the trials of Hercules", depending on the student and what they are most interested in.
