I am an Environmental Studies major with a minor in Environmental Communications. I also worked in the newspaper industry for two years as a journalist. I recently published my first book. I have taught kids from kindergarten to senior year of high school as a substitute teacher, coached an undefeated JV boys soccer team, and have spent years tutoring kids in college and in high school. I use the information I've gathered from my various adventures to keep learning engaging and fun. I believe learning takes work and dedication, but there's no reason not to enjoy the ride.

Q & A

What is your teaching philosophy?

I believe that everyone has the ability to learn. A teacher simply helps them along the way.

What might you do in a typical first session with a student?

I would get to know how the student learns, what they need to learn, and how much they want to learn. From there, we would form a strategy to tackle the coming weeks or months.

How would you help a student stay motivated?

It is important to take short breaks every 15 minutes with fun outside sources.
