What is your teaching philosophy?

Without patience, I won't succeed and neither will my student. Patience is needed in order to teach and tutor anyone.

What might you do in a typical first session with a student?

I would find out what areas they are struggling in and tackle that subject matter.

How can you help a student become an independent learner?

我将给他们tools and "tricks" they could use to help understand the concept behind a problem so that they will be able to use them on future similar problems. Then I would give them practice work so that they could retain what they learned.

How would you help a student stay motivated?

Helping and encouraging are equally important. I would also tell them if they are struggling with something that everyone struggles, but they can't give up. I would give them examples of my struggles as well and how I overcame them.
