What is your teaching philosophy?
I believe it is my job to find out the best way to instruct each individual student, and that there are no stupid questions.
你会做什么在一个典型的第一次会议a student?
I would like to meet the student, look over their current assignment(s), and have them explain to me in their own words what they are studying. Then, I'd like to go through a practice problem together so the student can show me their approach and thought process.
How can you help a student become an independent learner?
The best way to learn on your own is to make sure that you are learning the core fundamentals and not just rote memorization of a problem-solving process. Just memorizing the steps to one problem will not necessarily help you in the future. If you can learn the underpinnings of what is going on, then you will have no trouble learning further material on your own.
How would you help a student stay motivated?
I would like to seek out lessons on the subject from other instructors (e.g. YouTube videos) so that the way material is presented and absorbed by the student can be changed up periodically so that the learning process does not get stale.
