I have been teaching English language and Test Prep courses for more than 8 years. I have taken the GRE, IELTS, and TOEFL tests. Therefore, I have pretty good experience with how those exams look like. My current PhD research is in Intercultural Communications and Video games. I have designed a winning -award video game in 2013.
I am also a Teaching Associate in Indiana University of Pennsylvania. I've taught Animation, 2D Game Development, Multimedia, 3D Game Design and Development, and Communications Media research. I've presented in regional and international conferences. I am bilingual as I speak English and Arabic fluently.

Q & A

How can you help a student become an independent learner?

Games! Yes, I always implement interactive exercises and game-based input, so students take the challenge and start to walk through the materials and exercises.

How would you help a student stay motivated?

Corrective feedback is always fast and demonstrates to the student his/her weaknesses. This feedback is always constructive.

If a student has difficulty learning a skill or concept, what would you do?

I break down this skill or concept into sub-skills or smaller steps.

What is your teaching philosophy?

My teaching philosophy is to engage students in learning a particular subject. I prefer to employ games and interactive exercises with my students so they do not feel bored and feel challenged.

What might you do in a typical first session with a student?

I break the ice by identifying the needs of my student and get to know his/her fears so I make sure that such fears won't represent an obstacle during our sessions together. In the first session, I start lightly working on achieving the goals of the course through interactive and mind-challenging activities.
