What is your teaching philosophy?

I believe that grasping a concept is much more beneficial than memorizing terms! Not only does the mind hold on to and have more access to this information, but it will also help you to build a solid foundation on the subject. This solid foundation is a crucial element in learning new, more advanced topics. I will work with you to help you wrap your mind around off-putting topics, and provide that gentle push you need to succeed!

What might you do in a typical first session with a student?

I love using first sessions to come up with a success plan! Where are your strengths? What concepts do you struggle with? How do you measure improvement? Are you seeking help to pass an exam coming up? Are you looking for a consistent tutor to help you along with the lesson plan? During the first session, your answers to these questions will help us to come up with a plan that caters exactly to your needs!
