I am a recent Magna Cum Laude graduate of Georgia College. I love working with young people and empowering them with the tools and knowledge they need to succeed. I am a Liberal Studies graduate who earned an interdisciplinary degree and am therefore skilled in a wide variety of disciplines including writing, literature, test prep, English, poetry, grammar, performance, and public speaking among other disciplines. I love young people and I have worked with a variety of young people from different backgrounds. Most recently, I spent the summer working with gifted students from all over the county at a gifted camp with Duke (University) TIP. Before that, I was teaching health classes to middle and high school students in Macon.

在我空闲时间,我喜欢拥抱好book (I'm currently reading "After Dark" by Haruki Murakami). And if I'm not reading or blogging, you can find me at a local Atlanta coffeehouse performing some of my poetry or spoken word pieces for open mic night. As a past successful student myself, I know that great mentors and tutors are a key component to success and I love working hard to be that helping hand and enlightening voice to students. I focus on meeting students where they're are, setting goals, and overcoming challenges and working hard to make even bigger goals for the future.

Q & A

What is your teaching philosophy?

My teaching philosophy is to meet students where they are, set goals, assist students in overcoming learning obstacles, and ultimately help students learn to challenger themselves for bigger goals and successes in the future.

What might you do in a typical first session with a student?

Introduce myself and get to know the student. Make sure there is understanding and comparability. Then take the time to see where the student is academically and understand exactly where they want to be by the end of our lessons. Plot out a plan of action and get prepared for change!
