I instruct for achievement in "everyday situations and life." Sessions focus on basic grammar structure, building vocabulary, engaged learning, and healthy habits of self study. Student participation and practice are mandatory.

Students are expected to be responsible for gathering the demands of several learning tasks, such as memorizing verb's conjugation in all tenses and moods by practicing, learning the vocabulary associated with the "everyday communicative/conversational Spanish", to enjoy fluency, and develop confidence in: asking questions, answer in complete clear statements, reading with understandable pronunciation, reaching listening comprehension, succeed in translation exercises, writing about their every day/every past experiences or future expectations, expressed confidently in the target language.

Q & A

What is your teaching philosophy?

I like to customize the learning experience based on the student’s proficiency and matched with their goals and objectives. I leverage a variety of resources in tailoring the curriculum to help the student maximize their progress. I like to work with the student to create a personalized outline of what is the agreed upon course of action. My instruction involves grammar, based on a side-by-side comparison with English grammar, with emphasis on proper verb conjugation and syntactical structures. I like to encourage student participation and conversation with appropriate pronunciation, based on the needs that the student has identified.

What might you do in a typical first session with a student?

It depends on the student's level and need.

How can you help a student become an independent learner?

By giving activities to practice and developing self-confidence in what has been learned.

If a student has difficulty learning a skill or concept, what would you do?

I try a different way until we reach the objective.
