If a student has difficulty learning a skill or concept, what would you do?
I would make sure we went through all the details, and tried approaching the skill or concept in different ways to ensure that the student fully solidifies it. I would make sure that the student understands the concept, as well as the best way to approach questions dealing with said concepts, by giving them tips of what to look for and making it intuitive.
How do you help students who are struggling with reading comprehension?
我将帮助学生在阅读ing comprehension by giving them a plan of attack, or a series of questions/things to look for while reading. One method that may work for students is creating a T-chart, where the top lists the main idea of the passage (to be filled at the end), one side filled with important details jotted down while reading it, and the other side containing contradicting views presented in a passage.
What strategies have you found to be most successful when you start to work with a student?
Asking students many questions along the way to solidify that they not only know how to do a problem, but that they understand why and that it is intuitive. I often find drawing things out on a whiteboard can be very helpful, especially when dealing with processes.
