Q & A

What is your teaching philosophy?

I want to give each student the opportunity to get the information they need to succeed. If this means explaining something 100 times with different examples and ways of explaining, I will go the extra mile.

What might you do in a typical first session with a student?

I would get to know some things about the student and try to find some information that will allow us to be comfortable so the tutoring process isn't so hard on the both of us. Then, I'd use a plethora of methods to find out what strategy might work for that particular student.

How can you help a student become an independent learner?

I think incremental learning based on the students own comprehension will allow students to find out what concepts they are struggling with while not completely overwhelming them.
