I am a graduate of The University of Texas at Austin. I received my Bachelor of Science in Mathematical Sciences with a focus on statistics and data analysis. I also completed a minor in science, technology and society where I completed courses in business programming to website building and risk management. Since graduation, I have worked as contractor for NASA as a space flight training instructor for the International Space Station under United Space Alliance. It was there that I learned that I absolutely loved to instruct individuals. Instruction was the part of my position that I enjoyed the most and I did not have the opportunity to instruct as much as I would have liked. As talk of layoffs began I considered a career change in which I would get to instruct more and teaching was the first area I looked into. I started out subbing and once I was acclimated with the system and the kids I never looked into anything else. I am most passionate about Mathematics and I love to work with all students. I have worked exceptionally well with mainstream students as well as ESL/ELL and special needs students. I enjoy using old ways or finding new ways to make sure that I reach each and every learner. I have successfully prepared learners for standardized tests for all six years of my career and learners have accomplished enormous amounts of growth and success. I uphold education to the utmost importance as it is the foundation to be able to made something of one self and obtain an improved quality of life. I also am a proponent for math being in all that we do so it is extremely important to have a solid base of math skills to assist in being successful in almost every area of life. I try to impart not only knowledge but passion and joy for the subject in my students each and everyday. In my spare time I love to spend time with my two kids and we go to the library, complete jigsaw puzzles, sing, dance, watch a movie or just talk and enjoy each others company. When I am not with children, I love solving math problems, learning something new, learning about/playing with a new technology and the occasional comedy movie.
