我是一个当前的大学本科生sity Houston majoring in psychology with a minor in business administration. As a strong believer in education, I feel that tutors are essential for a student's success whether they are struggling with a particular subject or not. With that being said, I feel that tutors help expand the minds of the future, helping the child understand that they can solve any problem with practice and confidence! During my high school years, I tutored middle and high schoolers in various subjects ranging from pre-algebra to statistics. I also did private tutoring for elementary school students where I helped them solve word problems and fractions effectively! My tutoring expertise does not stop there. I am currently volunteering at a school for students who have autism where I not only assess their behavior, but also their writing and mathematical skills! As I mentioned earlier, I am a firm believer in education and I will do my very best to help the student not only know the course material for a particular exam, but also understand it, so that they can use the method whenever they need it!

Q & A

What is your teaching philosophy?

Being collaborative.

What might you do in a typical first session with a student?

Most students who need tutoring will be against having a tutor. Therefore, I try to make the student comfortable by making jokes and relating with them.

If a student has difficulty learning a skill or concept, what would you do?

I try to explain in a different way that helps them better understand the material. Oftentimes, students are visual learners meaning that they need images to help illustrate the concept. Also, some students like hearing real world application for the material that grabs their attention.
