I received a B.S. in biology from Georgia Tech, and recently earned a Ph.D. in molecular biology from the University of Alabama. While earning my Ph.D., I designed and performed research relating to the cellular and molecular aspects of Parkinson's disease, which culminated in multiple publications in scientific journals. During this time, I taught introductory biology lab and microbiology lab courses for over 5 years as a Teaching Assistant. My teaching philosophy is rooted in the belief that gaining a strong understanding of fundamental concepts is ultimately responsible for increasing performance on assignments, tests, and biology courses in general. I am perpetually passionate and curious about the natural world, science, and the applications of science and new scientific discoveries which are constantly ongoing.
