I have spent most of my school life tutoring other students. I began in 3rd grade, where I helped my best friend with their math homework. Later, in high school, I volunteered my free periods to be an AVID tutor, leading AVID tutorials and assisting students with academic organizational skills.

Once I earned my Associates of Arts in Liberal Sciences, I began working with the same school district I attended in my youth. I worked with students who had low reading levels to encourage a love of reading and identify strengths and weaknesses in their reading. That time I spent has had a lasting impact on me.

In early 2020, I decided to go back to school, to earn a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology. With my love of technology, it was an easy transition, but I began thinking about how hard it has been for many students to adapt to digital education. I believe that every student has the right to free access to good education, with all the support they need. I have the skill and the passion to be that support.

My personal philosophy for tutoring is that a student must want to learn before they can learn. So when tutoring I adapt my lessons around their interests, hobbies and goals. Through out my life, I have tutored in a wide range of subjects, but English and Life Sciences both come very naturally for me.

I balance my work life with cooking and my two cats. I balance the cooking with outdoor sports.
