You know when you just "know" about something? Well, I have ALWAYS just known that I would be a teacher. After earning my BA at the University of Massachusetts and my MA at Boston University, I moved to Manhattan where I started my professional career teaching Literature, Writing, and Psychology at Monroe College in the Bronx, and then English and History at the Beacon School in Manhattan. After taking a complement of students to Cuba in 2000, I moved to New Orleans (the northernmost Caribbean country!) where I was invited to participate in the National Writing Project. Shortly thereafter, I joined New Orleans Access Television as Education Coordinator and Senior Writer. There, I produced educational programming, wrote and administered several training grants, consulted on all film training programs developed by the City of New Orleans, and helped design curriculum for media programs offered in local schools. In addition, I wrote the curriculum for film and video production, certified by the State of Louisiana, and taught Screenwriting and Introduction to Production at Louisiana Technical College.

2009年,我回到New York and to Monroe College as Director of the Writing Center and Writing Across the Curriculum. I was also a member of the Honors Executive Board, the Honors Program Coordinator for the Bronx campus, and taught Honors sections of Film as Literature, Expository Writing, and The Psychology of Child Development. In 2015, I moved to the DFW area, and found Fusion Academy Southlake. I helped open the campus, and I am the Head of the English Department.

Throughout my years working in education, I have also been a freelance writer for projects ranging from White Papers, to Feasibility Studies, to Grants, and even Screenplays. I have been a Red Sox fan since childhood, and grew up watching them lose from the third baseline of Fenway Park. I have travelled to 15 countries and 40 US states, I speak 3 languages (other than English!), and I LOVE to learn new things. In my spare time, I play with my Parson Russell Terrier Phoenix, cook amazing meals, swim, knit, live part-time in the MCU, attend ComiCon, and train unsuspecting padawans. I am a Jedi Master.
