Hello, my name is Sonya and I am from Chicago Illinois. I have two sisters in which I am the middle child. I have been out west for six years off and on. I really enjoy being in such a quiet slower paced environment. Although I do not have any children at this time, I would like to have at least one of my own eventually.
I served as an educator and leader for 15+ years which included elementary- post secondary education. I have worked with a wide range of learners including infants to college level. I have experience with gifted students as well as learners with special needs. I have worked as a substitute teacher for approximately 2 years and worked as a directors assistant in early childhood centers as well. I received a Bachelors degree from Southern Illinois University Carbondale. I have two masters degrees, one in special education and the other in Special Education Directorship with an endorsement in administration as a school principal from both Governors State University and Lewis University. I am a recent doctoral graduate from Grand Canyon University where I studied organizational leadership with an emphasis in nonprofit/ leadership.
I enjoy fine dining, great movies, racecar/go-cart driving, going to amusement parks, and relaxing with my family. I do not have any hobbies but I do enjoy spending time with the people I love. I can say that I enjoy working and I spend most of my time thinking of innovative business opportunities and coming up with new inventions to improve everyday life.

I have made the huge decision to obtain a doctorate degree to further my knowledge and expertise in the area of leadership because I would like to help with the change of our current economic, social, emotional, and environmental issues seen within our school systems, businesses, and daily lives of learners. I believe I can do this by encouraging and inspiring people through great leadership, mentoring, and facilitation of revolutionary ideas and innovations. I also believe that furthering my education will lend great opportunities for my family and me.
